Who we are
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use wirelessdealz.ca or buy from us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
The company you buy from is responsible for your information: Wireless Deal Inc., an Ontario corporation, for customers in Canada, and Wireless Deal Inc., a Virginia corporation, for customers in the United States.
Our Privacy Officer is accountable for how we handle personal information and is the person in charge of protecting it. You can reach them at privacy@wirelessdealz.ca.
What we collect
Your account
Your name, email address and password. We store your password only in a scrambled form that cannot be turned back into the password, so nobody — including our staff — can read it.
Business accounts
Your business name, tax number (EIN or Business Number), the volume you expect to buy, and your resale or exemption certificate number and its expiry date.
Orders
Your contact email, delivery address and phone number, what you bought and what you paid, delivery and tracking details, and the IMEI or serial numbers of the devices you receive.
Returns and quotes
The reason you give, what you tell us, and any photos you upload. We remove location and camera details from photos before we store them.
Payments
When you pay online, you enter your card or bank details with our payment provider. They never reach our servers; we receive a confirmation and limited details, such as the card type and its last four digits.
When you use the website
The essential cookies described below. We also use your IP address briefly to protect sign-in, sign-up and returns from abuse; we do not store it with your account.
We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not buy personal information about you from anyone.
How we use it
- To provide and protect your account.
- To process orders, payments, deliveries, returns and warranty claims.
- To review business account applications and apply trade pricing.
- To prevent, detect and investigate fraud and abuse.
- To keep the records the law requires, such as tax and accounting records.
- To answer your questions and resolve problems.
- To keep the website working, secure and improving.
- To establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We do not send marketing email. If that changes, we will send it only with your permission, and every message will let you unsubscribe.
Where your information is stored
Our website and database run in the United States, so information about customers in Canada — including Quebec — is stored and processed there. While it is there, it may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of the United States under its laws. Our service providers are bound by contract to protect it.
How long we keep it
- Orders, payments, returns and related records: at least six years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as tax law requires.
- Account details: while your account is open. When it is closed, we delete or anonymise them, except what we must keep as records.
- Return photos: for as long as we keep the return they belong to.
- Sign-in sessions: until you sign out, or after a period without use.
How we protect it
- Every connection to our website is encrypted.
- Passwords are stored only in a form that cannot be reversed.
- Staff reach customer information only through a separate, private system, with access limited by role, and every staff change to an order, a price or an account is recorded.
- Information is stored on encrypted infrastructure.
No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and review how we do it.
If there is a breach
If personal information is lost, or accessed or disclosed without authorisation, we act to contain it. Where there is a real risk of significant harm, we tell you and the privacy regulators the law requires, as soon as we can. We keep a record of every breach.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information, except what we must keep by law or to complete an order;
- give you your information in a structured, commonly used format;
- stop using your information for a purpose you agreed to, where that is possible — which may mean we can no longer provide some services.
To make a request, email our Privacy Officer at privacy@wirelessdealz.ca. We confirm your identity before acting, and reply within 30 days — or tell you if we need longer and why, where the law allows. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
Residents of US states with privacy laws, including California, have these rights too. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Children
Our website is not meant for children, and you must be old enough to enter a contract where you live to buy from us. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Complaints
Please contact our Privacy Officer first. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to:
- the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada;
- in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec;
- in the United States, the attorney general of your state.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, and the date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will ask for your permission where the law requires it.
